แอนดรูว์ มาร์แชล โกหกเรื่องที่ตัวเองถูกสะกดรอยวันที่ 3 สิงหาคม คนอย่างแอนดรูว์ ถ้าคิดว่าถูกสะกดรอย เค้าต้องรีบเขียนแจ้งบนเฟซบุ๊ค เค้าไม่ใช่คนดองเรื่อง อย่างรีบเขียนเรื่องการตายของจุมพลทั้งๆ ที่เค้าไม่ตาย นี่เล่าเป็นตุเป็นตะว่ามีคนตาม 2-3 วัน แต่ไม่มีหลักฐานอะไรเลย และดิชั้นเชื่อว่า ทางการไทยไม่คิดทำอะไรอุกอาจแบบนั้นเพราะเค้าไม่ใช่คนไทย ส่วนที่บอกว่ามีคนส่งกล่องมาที่หน้าประตู ก็ไม่มีหลักฐานใดๆ ที่บอกว่าเป็นกล่องที่ส่งมาถึงเค้า เราไม่รู้ว่าอะไรอยู่ในกล่อง ไม่มีรูปที่พิสูจน์ว่ามีคนมาวางกล่องหน้าบ้าน เป็นไปได้หรอที่แอนดูว์ไม่ติดกล้องหน้าบ้านถ้ารู้ว่าตัวเองเป็นเหยื่อ การสันนิษฐานของดิชั้นมี 2 ข้อ ข้อแรก ดิชั้นรู้นิสัยแอนดรูว์เพราะคบกับมานานก่อนที่จะเลิกคบเพราะเป็นคน self-centred นี่คงเห็นว่า ทุกคนโดนขู่หมดแล้ว ยกเว้นตัวเอง กลัวตกขบวนรถไฟ กลัวว่าตัวเองจะหมดความสำคัญ โทษนะคะ เค้าเป็นคนอย่างนั้นจริงๆ คนรอบข้างและเพื่อนนักข่าวรู้นิสัยกันหมด จึงหนีออกห่าง ทะเลาะกับรอยเตอร์ จึงต้องลาออก เพื่อนนักข่าวก็ไม่เอา เพราะเค้ารำคาญที่มันชอบไปอวดว่า มันช่วยกู้ประเทศไทยจากการเป็นเผด็จการ การสร้างเรื่องแบบนี้ ไม่ดีต่อการต่อสู้ของคนที่เหลือที่อยู่ต่างประเทศ ส่วนข้อสองนั้น ดิชั้นคอนเฟิร์มว่า แอนดรูว์เป็นโรค alcoholism ติดเหล้าจนเสียงาน ดิชั้นเป็นคนเขียนจดหมายรับรองให้เค้าเข้าทำงานที่ Green Peace ทำได้ไม่นานก็ถูกไล่ออกเพราะไปเมาที่ทำงาน ทำดิชั้นเสียชื่อเสียงเพราะดิชั้นเป็นคนเขียนจดหมายรับรอง การเจอกันที่อังกฤษหลายครั้งก็ต้องยกเลิก เพราะแอนดรูว์เมา ไม่สามารถมาตามนัดได้ ปล่อยให้คนที่เหลือรอเก้อ ดิชั้นคิดว่า ไอ้การสงสัยว่ามีคนมายืนหน้าบ้าน น่าจะมาจากอาการเมาค้างเหมือนเดิมและเห็นภาพหลอน เรื่องนี้ใครที่เป็นเพื่อนแอนดรูว์จะรู้ดี พอเมาแล้วก็จะเที่ยวไล่ด่าคนบนเฟซบุ๊ค ดิชั้นก็ไม่รอด ถูกเค้ารังควาน เขียนอีเมล์และส่ง WhatsApp มารังควานบ่อยๆ เรื่องผิดใจกันมาจากเรื่องนิดเดียวคือดิชั้นไม่ชวนนางไปงานสัมมนาที่ Stanford เมื่อปี 2017 พอไม่ได้รับเชิญก็โกรธ โทรไปวุ่นวาย/ก่อความไม่สงบที่มหาลัยระหว่างการสัมมนา จนผู้ร่วมสัมมนาอีกประมาณ 10 คน รำคาญ จากนั้นเค้าก็ด่าผู้ร่วมสัมมนาและดิชั้นเสียๆ หายๆ เอาเราไปประจานต่างๆ นานา จนดิชั้นตัดใจเลิกคบมันตั้งแต่บัดนั้น
....Andrew MacGregor Marshall told lies about him being monitored by unknown men in front of his house in the UK on 3 August. Knowing him for sometime, I am certain that he would not hold on to story like that, sitting on it, and only told the public just now. We all know he wants to be the first in “breaking news”. He claimed that a few people loitering in front of his house, but there have been no proofs. I do not believe the Thai state will be eager to attack a non-Thai national overseas. He told us that he found a box at his doorstep. Again, there were no proofs if someone placed the box there. We know nothing about what was inside the box. There is no CCTV recording the act. I will be surprised to know if he did not install CCTV especially if he knew he could be a target. I have two theories. First, a self-certred man, he felt he was missing the train---since all other dissidents were attacked or threatened, then he needed a story to put himself in such situation too. Friends ran away from him because he continuously seeks attention for himself. Among Thai journalists they stopped talking to him because he often claimed that he was saving Thailand from dictatorship. His behaviour is damaging his own reputation. Second, he is a severe alcoholic. After he left Reuters, he applied for a job at Green Peace, he asked me to write a letter of recommendation, and I did. After a few months, he was fired, tainting my reputation as someone who recommended him to the company. In the past, when we were having meetings in London, he failed to turn up simply because he was so drunk in his hotel room. Therefore, for him to claim that someone monitoring him in front of his house, that possibly could be because of a hallucination effect caused by alcohols. We all know this side of Andrew. When he was drunk he would rant on people on Facebook. He sent emails and message on WhatsApp to harass me many times. The fall-out was caused by the fact that I did not invite him to a conference at Stanford in 2017; he was furious. Then he harassed us by calling up at the University many times, irritating other participants at the conference. He also insulted them who joined the conference on his Facebook page. That’s when I decided to cut off contacts with him—just too toxic.
